Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Vascular unit in Florence, Alabama. The role involves working night shifts and providing high-quality care for patients with complex vascular conditions. The position supports professional development, including opportunities for dialysis certification.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Alabama or compact state RN license.
  • Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS required within six months of hire.
  • Two to three years of experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Vascular

Job Type: PRN | Nights

Schedule: (7p-7a), 2 shifts every 2 weeks; one must be weekends.

About our Team

Our Vascular unit specializes in caring for patients with complex vascular and circulatory conditions, as well as general medical and post‑surgical needs. Patients on this unit may include those with peripheral vascular disease, arterial and venous disorders, wound complications, post‑operative vascular care, and chronic conditions requiring ongoing monitoring and education. Nurses work closely with vascular surgeons, hospitalists, wound care specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Nurses on this unit are provided the opportunity to earn dialysis certification as part of their professional development.

How You'll Contribute
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

About North Alabama Medical Center

North Alabama Medical Center, opened its doors in 2018, is the replacement facility for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, serving the Florence, Alabama area. The 263‑bed facility offers the community’s only open heart surgery site, a complete line of women's and children’s services, and a full range of medical and imaging services. The center is a certified Chest Pain center with a team of cardiologists available 24/7 and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association. The 24‑hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama.
