Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Urgent Care team. The role supports walk-in care for injuries or illnesses not requiring ER, with 8:00am–6:30pm hours and a 7-day operation.

Eligible candidates may earn a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, nursing interventions, and accurate documentation to support patient care plans.

Qualifications

  • Active NC RN license or compact state license required.
  • Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
  • AHA BLS certification required within 30 days.
  • ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
  • One year of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides age-appropriate care based on condition.
  • Documents medical necessity timely in the medical record.
  • Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurate QA assessments.

Job Type: Full Time | Days

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, open 7 days a week (8a-6p), closed Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day.

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment for eligible candidates.

More about our team

Join our Urgent Care Team consisting of 2 Providers, Registered Nurse (RN), Rad Tech and Lab Assistant. We are a walk-in clinic that treats injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care, but not serious enough to require an ER visit. Hours of operation: 7 days a week, 8:00am-6:30pm. This position offers the opportunity to care for the needs of our community and helps offload the ER so that they can care for emergent patients.

How You'll Contribute
  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments

What We're Looking For
  • Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
  • Associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
