The RN Unit Coordinator provides clinical leadership, drives safety/quality initiatives, and enhances workflow while supporting staff development and delivering high-quality cardiac and neuro patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required; MSN preferred.
• RN license active; BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 18 months of nursing experience; leadership abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and quality initiatives in the department.
• Improve workflow; support staff development and patient care quality.
• Provide clinical leadership on the 2 South-Telemetry/Med Surg unit.

This is a Full Time , Night shift position in Suffolk, VA.Hours: 7PM to 7AM with rotating weekend schedule.The Cardiac Telemetry / Med Surg at Sentara Obici Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 2 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases. This 25-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit. 2 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down before year's end, making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity setting.
