Job summary

Highpoint Health Sumner in Gallatin, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Trauma Program as a Trauma Program Manager. This role leads the trauma program, coordinating patient care, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Department.

The TPM will oversee daily operations, staff performance, and budget considerations while integrating evidence-based practices and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a hospital setting.

How you'll contribute

The Quality Department is seeking a candidate for the Trauma Program Manager (TPM) position, reporting to the Quality Management Director. This role is responsible for the overall coordination, oversight, and continuous improvement of the hospital's trauma program. Manages the daily operations of the assigned department or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
  • Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
  • Assesses the quality of patient care delivered and coordinates patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments. May provide patient care when necessary.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information: Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
