Job summary

BSA Hospital is seeking a Trauma PI Coordinator RN in Amarillo, TX, day shift, full-time, to coordinate trauma care across the hospital in partnership with the Trauma Coordinator and Trauma Medical Director.

You will participate in the trauma performance improvement program and support trauma prevention and education for the public and professionals in the community.

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license and current BLS certification.
• ACLS and either PALS or ENPC and TNCC/ATCN are required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree are preferred and related trauma certification is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate trauma care with the Trauma Coordinator, Trauma Medical Director, and Emergency/Trauma leadership.
• Participate in the trauma performance improvement program.
• Lead targeted prevention and education activities for the public and health care professionals.

Responsibilities

A registered nurse with demonstrated interest, education, and experience in trauma care and who, in partnership with the Trauma Coordinator, Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, is responsible for coordination of trauma care. Coordination will include active participation in the trauma performance improvement program, the authority to positively impact trauma care of trauma patients in all areas of the hospital, and targeted prevention and education activities for the public and health care professionals.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Current Texas RN license
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS
• PALS or ENPC
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses)
• ATCN

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 1-3 years clinical Emergency, Critical care or Trauma Services
• Charge/ supervisor experience is a plus
• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
• TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course)
• ATS (American Trauma Society) membership
