Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is seeking a registered nurse to join our Long-Term care center on the Chesapeake Bay. You will coordinate clinical care and ensure exceptional resident outcomes in a supportive, faith-based community setting.

As an RN, you will engage in assessments, care planning, documentation, and collaboration with families and healthcare teams. This full-time night-shift role offers competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Virginia (or compact).
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Proficient with software applications and systems used in The Hoy Center (Google, Microsoft, PCC, etc.).
• Must maintain CPR certification.
• Flu vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and inform physicians of significant changes in residents' health status.
• Maintain medication and resident records.
• Participate in assessment and care planning reviews.
• Report problems involving nursing services to the Team Leader.

Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift (7pm-7am). 3 days one week, 4 days the next, with an every other weekend rotation

As an RN in our beautiful Long-Term center on the Chesapeake Bay, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating clinical care, and ensuring exceptional resident outcomes. This is not just a job—it's an opportunity to foster innovation, and shape the future of healthcare delivery.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Recognize and inform the appropriate physician of significant changes in the resident's health status and for adverse reaction(s) to medication.
• Maintain medication and resident's records.
• Participate in resident assessment and care planning reviews and revise residents' assessments and care plans.
• Insure problems and complaints involving nursing services are reported to the Team Leader in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Communicate and coordinate care with residents and their families/significant others.
• Document and lead others in the documentation of resident care.
• Direct, participates and/or assists staff in delivering care.
• Check for appropriate amount and condition of equipment and supplies; order supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Support and participate in facility quality assurance programs.
• Ensure that unit practices are consistent with regulatory requirements.
• Review, transcribe and implement physician orders.
• Practice and ensure staff adheres to infection control measures.
• Participate in continuing education programs to maintain competency.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb stairs, stand or walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

Required

• Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Virginia (or compact).
• A minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Must be proficient with all software applications and systems utilized in The Hoy Center. (Google, Microsoft, PCC, etc.)
• Must maintain current CPR certification.
• Flu-Vaccinated

Preferred

• Experience working with the senior population.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $42.00 - $45.00 + per hour (commensurate with experience) plus competitive night-time differential.
