Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking an OR RN to join our high performing Operating Room team in Marquette, Michigan. This full-time role supports a 12-hour day shift schedule with varied start times and a 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) workload.

We offer a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants and a strong benefits package. The OR team collaborates to deliver high-quality care across 12 procedure rooms, with call requirements and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor's preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Acts as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

More About Our Team

Our high performing Operating Room (OR) team is a collaborative, fast paced department. OR nurses work side by side with surgical teams to deliver safe, high quality care, supported by strong communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellent patient outcomes. The OR features 12 procedure rooms and offers 8, 10, and 12 hour shift options based on unit needs. Call requirements include one night per week and one weekend per month. Weekend and holiday rotations are established and mapped out annually, providing predictability and work life balance.

How You'll Contribute

An OR RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
