Job summary

Berkley Post-Acute in Van Nuys, CA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to lead nursing staff and guide resident care in accordance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

This role requires supervisory experience in skilled nursing facilities, strong communication, and a patient-centered leadership style. You will collaborate with physicians, direct LVNs and CNAs, review charting, and ensure care plans reflect residents’ wishes and physician orders.

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid in the state of the facility.
• Supervisory background in SNF setting preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and basic math skills.
• Experience leading by example with a kind, patient, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with attending physicians to provide patient care and document progress per regulations and policies.
• Oversees and directs LVNs, CNAs and other clinical staff in nursing procedures per physician orders.
• Reviews nurses’ notes for accuracy and alignment with patient care and physician orders.
• Administers treatments and medications, initiates IVs, and documents as required.
• Interprets diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions and outcomes.
• Collaborates to create a Plan of Care for patients.
• Maintains a safe, respectful work environment and escalates concerns to Administration.

Position Summary:

Provides leadership for nursing staff and guidance in the care of patients/residents’ care and services in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, the resident's assessment and company policies.

• Current RN License valid in the same state as the facility
• Supervisory background in SNFsetting

• Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills
• Ability to lead by example – maintaining a kind, patient and professional demeanor in all work-related situations

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with attending physicians to provide patient care, record/sign progress notes, physician orders, etc. in accordance with all current regulations and company policies
• Oversees and directs L.V.N.s, C.N.A.s and other clinical support persons in performing nursing procedures and treatments in accordance with physician orders and patient needs
• Reviews nurses’ notes to ensure they are accurate/descriptive of the nursing care being provided, including the resident’s responses to the care, and that care is in accordance with the resident’s wishes and physician orders
• Administers treatments and medications, start IVs, charting/documenting as required
• Interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions
• Collaborates with nursing staff and leadership team to create a Plan of Care for patients
• Ensures a kind, positive, safe work environment for everyone, ensuring professional communication at all times and escalating any concerns to the Administrator
