Qualifications and requirements

Applicants must hold a current state RN license or multistate compact license and have an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

  • At least one year of experience in an acute or geriatric care setting preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and take appropriate actions
  • Effective communication skills in English, verbally and in writing

Department/Unit Summary

  • 12-bed unit
  • Patient ratio 1:6
  • Average length of stay: 10-12 days
  • Patients receive daily therapy, participate in activities and meals
  • Therapy staff collaborates closely with nursing
  • Option to work every 6th weekend, no mandatory overtime, three shifts per week
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • 24/7 nursing support on unit
  • Planned admissions and discharges reduce patient turnover
