Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical ICU at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week with a 11:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, in a 20-bed SICU unit providing comprehensive surgical and trauma critical care.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited nursing program, an active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and at least 1 year of critical care or surgical telemetry nursing

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where practicing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care or surgical telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with standards and policies.

Where You Will Work:

SICU is a 20-bed unit that provides nursing care to wide scope of surgical and trauma critical care patient population; including post cardiac surgical cases.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferably in Critical Care or one year nursing experience on surgical telemetry unit

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
