Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical ICU in Chicago, IL. The role is part-time (Mon-Fri, 11a-3p) on a 20-bed SICU that handles a wide surgical and trauma critical care patient population, including post-cardiac surgical cases.

You will provide coordinated patient care and ensure safety across the care continuum. The successful candidate will have an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in Illinois, and BLS and ACLS certifications, with at least 1 year

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• RN license issued by the state in which you practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care or on a surgical telemetry unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, and effective communication to ensure patient safety and optimal experience.

Where You Will Work:

SICU is a 20-bed unit that provides nursing care to wide scope of surgical and trauma critical care patient population; including post cardiac surgical cases.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferably in Critical Care or one year nursing experience on surgical telemetry unit

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
