Job summary

Aspen Valley Health is hiring a full-time seasonal Registered Nurse in the Same Day Surgery and PACU department. The RN provides professional care in line with AVH standards and educates patients and families about the care plan.

The role requires ADN, CO RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2+ years PACU/ICU/ED experience. BSN/MSN and Spanish skills are preferred and EPIC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• Unrestricted RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain before start date.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS required; equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.

Job description

We are currently hiring for a full time Registered Nurse (RN) within the Same Day Surgery And Pacu department here at Aspen Valley Health. This is a short-term SEASONAL position with an anticipated start date of November 30, 2026 and an expected end date of April 4, 2027. Work Shift: Days - 12 Hour. Compensation Range: $51.04 - $81.67. Night and weekend shift differentials up to $10 per hour! The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS). May be obtained upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• 2+ years of relevant nursing experience required—PACU, ICU, ED, step-down, etc.

We will consider equivalent combinations of experience and education for certain jobs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's (BSN) or Master's (MSN) in Nursing preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Overview

The Recovery Room RN / Same Day Surgery RN (PACU & SDS RN) provides professional nursing care in accordance with accepted standards of practice and AVH policy. Utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. The PACU RN works in support of the medical staff treatment plan and makes recommendations for changes to medical treatment plan as appropriate. The PACU RN educates patients and family around the plan of care and disease management. The PACU RN actively supports the nursing philosophy by striving for excellence in patient care, professional development, interpersonal relations, time management, and continuous quality improvement.
