Job summary

Aspen Valley Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for the Same Day Surgery and PACU in Aspen, Colorado. This is a seasonal, short-term assignment from November 30, 2026 to April 4, 2027, with 12-hour day shifts.

The RN will provide professional care, coordinate with the medical team, and educate patients and families about care plans, while contributing to continuous quality improvement in a community hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ADN required and Colorado RN license or ability to obtain before start date.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred or obtained on hire.
• 2+ years of PACU/ICU/ED-like nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in PACU and SDS settings per standards and AVH policy.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with the medical team.
• Educate patients and families on plan of care and disease management.
• Support quality improvement and time management in a fast-paced environment.

We are currently hiring for a full time Registered Nurse (RN) within the Same Day Surgery And Pacu department here at Aspen Valley Health.

This is a short-term SEASONAL position with an anticipated start date of November 30, 2026 and an expected end date of April 4, 2027.

Work Shift:

Days - 12 Hour

Compensation Range:

$51.04 - $81.67Night and weekend shift differentials up to $10 per hour!

The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS). May be obtained upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• 2+ years of relevant nursing experience required - PACU, ICU, ED, step-down, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (BSN) or Master’s (MSN) in Nursing preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Overview:

The Recovery Room RN / Same Day Surgery RN (PACU & SDS RN) provides professional nursing care in accordance with accepted standards of practice and AVH policy. Utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. The PACU RN works in support of the medical staff treatment plan and makes recommendations for changes to medical treatment plan as appropriate. The PACU RN educates patients and family around the plan of care and disease management. The PACU RN actively supports the nursing philosophy by striving for excellence in patient care, professional development, interpersonal relations, time management, and continuous quality improvement.
