Job summary

Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island is seeking a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The role emphasizes accurate assessments, timely interventions, and comprehensive care planning, within a multidisciplinary rehab environment.

The RN will document medical necessity, contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan, and participate in ongoing quality initiatives. Rhode Island RN licensure is required; ACLS/CRRN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum six months medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Current Rhode Island RN license.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

A Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient

• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

• Documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

• Education: Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.

  • Experience: Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.

• License: Active Rhode Island RN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.

• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred. CRRN preferred.
