Job summary

Mercy Youngstown Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift. This full-time role focuses on direct patient care within a compassionate team dedicated to high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include administering medications, performing nursing procedures, documenting care, and coordinating with the care team to support patient and family needs. Excellent communication and clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
• CPR/BCLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Performs plan of care including medications, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient care, transfers, discharge and support needs.
• Educates patient and family according to age, culture and condition.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

Position Summary

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

• Documents patient care given.
​
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
​
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
​
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
​
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
​
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.

• Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.

• CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
