Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, VA, is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses and RN Fellows to join the Progressive Care teams. Full-time Day shift 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or Full-time Night shift 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., Monday–Friday with some weekend shifts.

Sign-on and relocation assistance are available for eligible nurses. Progressive Care Unit (Neuro with some Cardiac) and Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit provide 52-bed Neuro/Cardiac telemetry care with 4-5 patients per nurse; focus

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate's degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse experience.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in Virginia under the eNLC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association required on start.

Responsibilities

• Achieve desired patient outcomes and enhance patient experience using a focused, integrated approach to care delivery.
• Practice in assigned patient care settings and meet program objectives while applying new knowledge.
• Meet educational goals under direct supervision of an experienced RN and through training formats.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse's and Registered Nurse Fellows to join the Progressive Care teams. Progressive Care Unit

Inova Alexandria's Hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an adult 52-bed Neurological/Cardiac Telemetry Unit. Nursing care is provided to medical, neurologic (Acute Stroke, Rule out Stroke, TIA) and cardiac patients in all phases of their disease process including initial diagnosis, treatment, and discharge. Each room is equipped with oxygen outlets, compressed air outlets and vacuum outlets. The patient population is 18 years old and older with a patient/nurse ratio of 4-5 to 1.

Cardiac Tele Progressive Care Unit

Inova Alexandria's Hospital Cardiac Telemetry Progressive Care Unit is a 40-bed cardiac acute care unit with the capacity of providing 24-hour telemetry monitoring. The population not only includes patients with cardiac disorders, and other complex diagnoses that require monitoring. The top DRGS: CHF, chest pain, stable cardiac arrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, uterine procedures, ureteral surgeries, major small/large bowel obstructions, post craniotomy patient and spinal surgeries transfers from ICU. Nurses are trained to be able to manage patients on high flow oxygen and BIPAP.

Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse Fellow (RN) Progressive Care Job Responsibilities

• The RN and RN Fellow achieves desired patient outcomes and enhances the patient experience by using a focused and integrated approach of care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate's degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse experience.
• Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Progressive Care, Intermediate Care, Intensive Care, Neuro and Cardiac Telemetry strongly preferred for RN roles.
• Open to acute care inpatient Med Surg experience for PCU RN Fellow roles.
