Texas Health Resources in Frisco, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the operating room on a PRN basis. The role emphasizes patient assessment, care planning, interventions, and continuity of care across shifts, including inter-hospital transfers when needed.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred), valid RN licensure, and BCLS/ACLS certifications, with 1 year OR circulator experience preferred. This role offers comprehensive benefits and 401(k).

Qualifications

• ADN or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• RN licensure active and in good standing.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required upon hire.
• At least 1 year of operating room circulator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assess the patient and plan his/her care.
• Implement interventions and monitor outcomes.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care and modify as needed.
• Maintain infection control and age-specific safety measures.
• Provide information to patients and family as needed.
• Ensure continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.

Registered Nurse (RN) PRN – Surgery

Location and Hours

Work location: Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75033.

Work hours: PRN – Monday-Friday. Variable hours 06:30 – 19:00.

Job Highlights

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma Nurse Program.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• RN with one year of Operating Room circulator experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
• Registered Nurse Upon Hire (required upon hire).
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (required upon hire).
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
• 90-day competency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assess the patient.
• Plan the care of the patient.
• Intervene as appropriate.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporate age‑specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information.
• Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers.
