Job summary

Texas Health Frisco is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery to support the surgical unit and deliver care using the Nursing Process. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs across shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include an accredited nursing degree (Associate or Diploma, BSN preferred), 1 year OR circulator experience, and RN licensure at hire with BCLS and ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• RN with one year of Operating Room circulator experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required upon hire) AND
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers.
