Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Texarkana is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide and oversee patient care on the nursing unit. The RN will plan and coordinate care, discharge planning, and educate patients and families for post-hospital needs.

Under supervision of Nursing leadership, the role may include Charge Nurse duties; ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses and must be obtained if not already held within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where the hospital resides or compact licensure.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS required for Charge Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct and supervise patient care.
• Plan, coordinate and provide patient care including discharge planning.
• Conduct patient and family teaching for post-hospital care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team; ACLS certification may be required for Charge Nurses.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training:

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
