Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide per diem day visits in the Huntsville coverage area. This role supports adult home health visits with flexible scheduling and meaningful patient interactions in the comfort of patients’ homes.

The RN will coordinate care plans with the care team, perform head-to-toe assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications and injections, and supervise LPNs and HHAs as needed. Amedisys emphasizes growth, purpose and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN). If less than 1 year, candidate must be approved by VP clinical.
• Current RN license, specific to the state you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees all aspects of patients' home care.
• Collaborates with patient care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Performs head to toe physical assessments.
• Checks vital signs and manages medications.
• Gives injections, IV therapy or tube feedings.
• Administers and maintains catheters.
• Completes documentation timely and accurately.
• Supervises LPNs and HHAs.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.

Attractive Pay

• Minimum Hourly: $35.00
• Maximum Hourly: $42.00

Qualifications

• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Minimum six months home health experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• Able to assess patient status and identify requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Must be familiar with general use and functions of the computer, such as, user names and password concepts; internet; e-mail; navigation of computer desktop, including starting programs, using files and windows, effectively use navigation buttons and tool bars; ability to self-manage online HR services and online training programs.

*Note - If less than 6 months clinical experience as a RN, candidate must participate in RN Intern program.
