Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Hammond is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver, direct and supervise patient care on the nursing unit. The RN will coordinate interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization and community resources.

Under leadership of the CNO/Director of Nursing, a Charge Nurse role may be required with ACLS certification. BLS and ACLS must be current or obtained within 90 days of employment, AHA approved.

Qualifications

• Holds a current RN license in the state where the hospital resides.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required for Charge Nurses.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct and supervise patient care.
• Plan, coordinate and provide patient care including discharge planning and teaching.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary care planning with the healthcare team.
• May perform Charge Nurse duties with ACLS certification.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training:

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
