RN Opening (PRN)

Day Shift: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Evening Shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

Night Shift: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

Compensation Range: $38.50 - $52.00/hr depending on experience

Summary

Provides general nursing care to patients in a nursing home facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies the Physician of patient’s condition and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents; may notify supervisor as needed
• Performs nursing assessments to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of patients
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
• Documents interventions, patient behaviors, and physical assessments for assigned patients
• Initiates a patient/family-education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient/family, as prescribed by the Physician
• Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities
• Other duties may be assigned

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Active, in good-standing, Registered Nurse License in the State of Colorado. Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
