Job summary

Centerpoint - Versailles is seeking a dedicated PreOp RN to join our surgical team. The role involves direct and indirect patient care, assessment, planning and evaluation using standard nursing processes.

You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to ensure safe, efficient perioperative care. A current RN license and an ASN/BSN are required; 1–2 years of Surgery RN experience and BLS; ACLS within 30 days of hire are expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current state RN license and an accredited nursing degree (ASN/BSN).
• 1–2 years as a Surgery RN is required; 2–4 years of critical care experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS within 30 days of hire; TNCC preferred.
• Specialty certification testing within 1 year of hire and pass within 1.5 years are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Meet physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to health care team.
• Maintain basic computer skills and ability to work under pressure.

$10,000 Sign On Bonus, 2 year commitment

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6a-2:30p

No Call, No Weekends, No holidays

More about our team

Our general surgery staff consists of expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians all dedicated to performing successful operations and promoting comfortable healing and recovery. Our most common surgical services consist of endo, ortho, and pain procedures. Due to the high volume of outpatient procedures, our surgery staff do not work weekends or holidays.

• 7 Pre/Op Infusion Rooms
• 2 OR Suites
• 1 Endo Suite
• 1 PACU Bay

How you'll contribute

Our PreOp RN's provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a PreOp RN you will:

• Meet the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of the patient and family.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment.
• Possess basic PC skills.
• Have the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• 1-2 years minimum experience as a Surgery RN
• 2-4 years critical care experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
• TNCC preferred
• Specialty Certification testing within 1 year of hire and pass within 1.5 years of hire - preferred
