Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in Tyler, TX on a rotating shift, PRN basis. The role involves providing and directing patient care using the nursing process for a defined group of patients.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN, maintains a Texas RN license, and has BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; trauma certification within 1 year of hire is preferred, with ASPAN standards knowledge to guide practice.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Trauma certification (TNCC/ATLS/TCAR) within 1 year of hire.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certified (within 90 days of hire)
• Trauma Certification Course (TNCC, ATLS, TCAR within 1 year of hire)
• Maintain knowledge of ASPAN Standards

Preferred Job Requirements

• PACU, ICU, ER, or other acceptable acute care experience
