Job summary

UT Health East Texas is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgery Center Registered Nurse (RN) in Tyler, TX to join our team.

The RN provides perioperative care, supports patient safety, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent surgical services. Requirements include ADN, Texas RN license, and BLS; preferred OR experience and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Texas RN license required
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire

• This position is located in the new Medical Education Building (MEB).
• UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who uses the nursing process to provide and direct patient care for a group of patients for a designated time frame before and during a surgical procedure.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Preferred Job Requirements

• Prior operating room experience
• ACLS
