Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU to provide post-surgical recovery and comprehensive patient care. This is a full-time role with 4–10 hour shifts and rotating start times from 6a to 9a.

You will join a large, renowned health system with strong patient safety and quality focus. The position requires an accredited nursing program, an Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS (PALS within 3 months), and at least two years of PACU/ICU/ED experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program and Illinois RN license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS required; PALS within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of PACU/ICU or ED nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-surgical recovery and coordinate patient care in PACU, with coverage for Same Day Surgery and Pre Operative services.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care and maintain a strong patient experience across the care continuum.

Where You Will Work:

Responsible for providing post-surgical recovery to patients. This position covers staffing as needed for PACU, Same Day Surgery, and Pre Operative Services.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS. PALS to be obtained within 3 months of hire
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience PACU, ICU or ED

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
