Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab to join our three-lab unit. The RN will assist the cardiovascular team from prep through recovery, with 4-10 hour shifts and a requirement to be on call with a 30-minute arrival time.

Travel to other Advocate sites may be required for orientation. Ideal candidates hold an Illinois RN license, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and BLS/ACLS certifications, with 1 year of critical care or cath lab nursing

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Illinois RN license issued by the state of Illinois.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care or Cath Lab.
• Ability to take call and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes.

Where You Will Work

The unit has three Cath Labs where physicians perform minimally invasive tests and procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease. As a nurse in this department you will assist the cardiovascular team throughout the procedure from prep through recovery.

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferably in Critical Care or Cath Lab
• Ability to take call and arrive to the hospital within 30 minutes

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
