Different Technologies Pty Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its plastic surgery clinical team.

The RN will work closely with physicians and staff to provide care across the surgical journey, with focus on pre-operative and post-operative care and patient education. This role requires Saturday availability as part of the regular schedule, with Saturdays primarily serving post-operative patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted RN license in the State of Tennessee.
• Experience in pre-operative and post-operative patient care preferred.
• Experience with wound assessment, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and post-surgical patient education preferred.
• Experience using EMR systems; Nextech, Epic, or similar experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our plastic surgery clinical team. This role works closely with our physicians and clinical staff to provide exceptional care to patients throughout their surgical journey, with a particular focus on pre-operative and post-operative care.

The RN will assist with in-office procedures, provide patient education, perform post-operative assessments and nursing care, and help ensure patients receive a high level of clinical support throughout their recovery.

Saturday availability is required as part of the regular schedule. Saturdays will primarily focus on seeing and caring for post-operative patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and clinical providers with biopsies, surgical procedures, and other in-office procedures.
• Provide nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients in accordance with established clinical protocols and provider orders.
• Perform nursing procedures within the RN scope of practice, including suture and staple removal, dressing changes, wound care, specimen collection, and obtaining and documenting vital signs.
• Assess post-operative patients, including incision sites, wounds, drains, swelling, bruising, pain, and other clinical concerns.
• Provide scheduled Saturday post-operative care, including patient assessments, dressing and wound care, patient education, documentation, and communication of concerns or abnormal findings to the physician or appropriate provider.
• Educate patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative instructions, medications, wound care, activity restrictions, drains, compression garments, and other aspects of their treatment and recovery.
• Respond to patient clinical questions and concerns and appropriately communicate or elevate concerns to the physician or provider when needed.
• Conduct post-operative follow-up with patients to assess recovery, reinforce instructions, and identify concerns requiring additional evaluation.
• Accurately document patient assessments, nursing interventions, education, communications, and other relevant information in the patient's medical record.
• Assist with coordinating post-operative appointments and patient care to support continuity of care and an efficient clinical schedule.
• Prepare, clean, and reset exam and procedure rooms before and after patient visits.
• Ensure exam and procedure rooms are properly stocked with necessary supplies.
• Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of medical instruments in accordance with established infection-control protocols.
• Monitor clinical supplies and communicate inventory needs to prevent shortages.
• Complete required pathology and laboratory documentation as ordered or directed by the physician or appropriate provider.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection-control, and clinical safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Tennessee.
• Previous nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Experience in plastic surgery, surgery, dermatology, cosmetic medicine, or a related specialty is preferred but not required.
• Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient care preferred.
• Experience with wound assessment, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and post-surgical patient education preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems; Nextech, Epic, or similar experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, infection-control standards, HIPAA requirements, and patient confidentiality.
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to recognize changes in a patient's condition and appropriately elevate concerns.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, providers, and other members of the clinical team.

Schedule

This position includes a regular weekday schedule as well as Saturdays, with Saturday shifts primarily dedicated to post-operative patient visits and care.

Saturday availability is required for this position.
