Job summary

Cellara Pain Institute is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient surgical center on a part-time weekend basis. You will provide pre-operative assessments, intra-operative support as needed, and post-operative care, educating patients and ensuring safe discharge.

The ideal candidate will hold an active RN license in the state, BLS certification, and experience in ambulatory or perioperative settings; weekend availability and strong clinical judgment are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to surgical patients.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and patient preparation.

• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical center on a part-time weekend basis.

The RN will support patients throughout the surgical experience, including pre-operative preparation, intra-operative support as needed, post-operative recovery, patient education, and safe discharge.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN looking for consistent weekend hours in a professional outpatient surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to surgical patients.


• Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for procedures.


• Review medical histories, medications, allergies, vital signs, and required documentation.


• Start and maintain IV access as appropriate.


• Assist physicians, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team during patient care.


• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures according to assigned responsibilities.


• Provide post-anesthesia and post-operative monitoring, including pain, vital signs, and recovery status.


• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.


• Administer medications as ordered and within the RN scope of practice.


• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.


• Follow infection-control, medication-safety, and surgical-center protocols.


• Educate patients and caregivers regarding post-operative care, medications, restrictions, warning signs, and follow-up instructions.


• Ensure patients meet established discharge criteria before leaving the facility.


• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and patient-centered clinical environment.


• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and other members of the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the surgical center operates.


• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.


• Current BLS certification required.


• ACLS certification required or preferred based on facility requirements.


• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center, operating room, PACU, pre-op, critical care, emergency department, or procedural setting strongly preferred.


• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.


• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.


• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.


• Reliable availability for scheduled weekend shifts.

Schedule
