RWJBarnabas Health's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift at the Main Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer care, and document in EPIC while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

Ideal candidates hold NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, APHON chemotherapy certification, and 1 year pediatric oncology experience. ADN required, BSN preferred; 36 hours/week, night shift.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing and BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS, and APHON chemotherapy certification required.
• 1 year of pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team for timely decisions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care transitions.

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit is an 11-bed unit that provides specialized care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of hematological and oncologic disorders. Our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive family-centered care to these patients throughout their treatment journey including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product transfusions, bone marrow transplantation, symptom management, and end-of-life care. As a center actively involved in clinical research, we offer patients access to innovative clinical trials while providing evidence-based, compassionate care that promotes the best possible outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and APHON Chemotherapy Certification are required. 1-year previous Pediatric experience is required.

Previous Pediatric Oncology experience preferred.

An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Night Shift, 36 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am.
