MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, seeks a Clinical Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to provide skilled, compassionate care to neonates through young adults and to support families across a spectrum of needs. You will assess evolving patient conditions, develop care plans, and coordinate interventions with the nursing team.
The role requires an active DC RN license and BLS for Healthcare Providers, with PICU experience preferred.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital provides care for critically ill patients with ages ranging from neonates to 21 years. The unit is supported by the full spectrum of medical and surgical services. The PICU specializes in the care of complex transplant patients, such as pediatric liver, kidney, small bowel and multivisceral organ transplants. As one of MedStar Georgetown's Centers of Excellence, the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute draws pediatric patients from all around the world for our growing program, which recently introduced pediatric living donor transplants and domino transplants. The PICU provides the highest level of care to critically ill medical and surgical patients including those requiring high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, continuous veno-venous hemofiltration and inhaled nitric oxide. Various shifts available, including full-time fixed night shifts and rotating shifts, and part-time rotating shifts or night shift, and limited PRN (per diem)
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
