MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide skilled, compassionate care for neonates to 21-year-olds within a full spectrum of services, including complex transplant patients and high-frequency ventilation needs.
With shifts including full-time fixed night and rotating schedules, candidates must have ADN/BSN/MSN/CNL, at least one year PICU experience, and DC RN licensure with BLS.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital provides care for critically ill patients with ages ranging from neonates to 21 years. The unit is supported by the full spectrum of medical and surgical services. The PICU specializes in the care of complex transplant patients, such as pediatric liver, kidney, small bowel and multivisceral organ transplants. As one of MedStar Georgetown's Centers of Excellence, the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute draws pediatric patients from all around the world for our growing program, which recently introduced pediatric living donor transplants and domino transplants. The PICU provides the highest level of care to critically ill medical and surgical patients including those requiring high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, continuous veno-venous hemofiltration and inhaled nitric oxide. We are proud to be among the 2% of hospitals to have received Magnet® designation five or more times and to have been awarded the first ANCC Well-Being Excellence™ credential.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
