Job summary

Inova Health System's Pediatric Emergency Department in Falls Church, VA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support pediatric patients on a PRN, 12-hour day/night rotation. The role offers a fast-paced environment in a Level 1 Trauma Center with dedicated pediatric resources.

Candidates should have a BSN, an RN license in Virginia, and BLS certification, with at least one year of acute care RN experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of RN experience in acute care.
• BSN from an accredited nursing program; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Active RN license in Virginia or eligibility to practice in Virginia.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Strong verbal and written communication; exceptional interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable, patient- and family-centered nursing care.
• Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Apply standard guidelines and pathways to ensure consistent care delivery.
• Support ED operations and care coordination across shifts.

Job Description

The Level 1 Trauma Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Pediatric patients.

PRN, As Needed - 12-Hour Shifts (Days Vary). During orientation will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience:Requires a minimum ofone yearof Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License:Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• Certification:BLS from American Heart Association
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strongly prefer 2 years plus of Pediatric ED RN experience
