Job Description

The Level 1 Trauma Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Room RN to join our team. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses.

Full-Time, Night Shift (7p-7a), with weekend, holiday, and call rotations. During orientation, nurses will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination, understanding patient, family, nurse, and healthcare team dynamics.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of one year of RN clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school. If holding an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be RN licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia.
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor.

Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of pediatric ED RN experience preferred.
