Texas Health Dallas is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PCCU Surgical Telemetry unit. This full-time days position requires a nursing degree along with BCLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications.

Experience in a high-acuity telemetry unit is preferred, with self-scheduling and a 4:1-5:1 patient ratio depending on acuity. The role emphasizes patient assessment, care planning, evaluation of interventions, and cross-shift care continuity.

Qualifications

• Must have Nursing Diploma or higher.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 Year RN experience or completion of RN residency program required.
• RN license upon hire required.
• BCLS, ACLS, CPI training required or maintained.
• BCMSN/CRRN/PCCN certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient.
• Plan the patient's care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures.
• Initiate information for patients and families.
• Maintain continuity of care across shifts and transfers.

Work hours: Full Time (Days) 7a-7p (36hr/wk.) Weekend and holiday requirements

Department Highlights

The PCCU Surgical Telemetry Unit is searching for a Registered Nurse who maintains a high degree of confidentiality, possesses positive interpersonal skills and is customer service focused. This unit is a 35-bed unit in the Hamon Tower. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular surgical patients, thoracic surgical patients, vascular surgical patients, Cath lab patients, heart failure patients, pacemakers, and all cardiac conditions. This unit is a high acuity telemetry unit that signifies a reduced nurse to patient ratio. We have self-scheduling which helps with the work/life balance as well. Our patient ratio is 4:1-5:1, depending on acuity levels

Here’s What You Need

• Nursing Diploma Nursing Req Or

• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req And
• BCMSN - Board Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or
• CRRN - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Upon Hire Pref Or
• PCCN - Progressive Care Nurse Certified Upon Hire Pref

What You Will Do

• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
