Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a full-time day shift. The unit provides high-acuity telemetry care for neurological and cardiovascular patients with standard nurse-to-patient ratios. A BSN is preferred, with eligible Texas RN licensure and up-to-date BCLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing OR ADN required
• BSN preferred
• 1 year Stepdown, Progressive Care or Intermediate (Tele) Care RN experience or 3 years Telemetry in an acute care hospital preferred
• RN must practice within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and be a team-oriented collaborator
• Texas State RN license or compact license accepted OR Nursing Diploma
• BCLS upon hire required
• ACLS within 90 days of hire required
• CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire required
• PCCN preferred not required
• SCRN preferred not required

Responsibilities

Work Location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231

Work Hours: 36 hours standard 6:45AM - 7:15PM (3-12-hour shifts, rotating weekend requirements, 2 major and 2 minor holiday requirements).

Neuro Progressive Care Unit Highlights

Our 35-bed Cardiac/ Neuro Intermediate Unit is a stroke designated unit that specializes in neurological, spinal surgeries and conditions that includes but not limited to seizures, strokes, cervical and lumbar discectomy/fusion, craniotomies for tumor resection, and cerebral aneurysm clipping. Our phenomenal RN team also provides care for cardiovascular patients with conditions such Heart Failure, AMI, pre and post interventional patients (heart Cath, ablations, and pacemakers), patients needing cardiac drips, and Arrhythmia patients needing a higher level of care in a non-ICU setting. It is a high acuity telemetry/ PCU unit that has standard nurse to patient ratios of 4:1 and up to 5:1 depending on acuity.

Here’s What You Need

• Diploma of Nursing OR Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Required
• BSN Preferred
• (1) year Stepdown, Progressive Care or Intermediate (Tele) Care RN experience or three (2) years of Telemetry experience in an acute care hospital preferred
• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care.
• Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted OR Nursing Diploma
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (AHA) upon hire Required
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
• CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 60 days of hire is required
• PCCN-Progressive Care Certified Nurse is preferred not required
• SCRN - Stroke Certified Registered Nurse is preferred not required
