Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN II) for the Progressive Care Unit. You will deliver nursing care using the Nursing Process, assess patients, plan and implement care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires an RN license in Texas, at least one year of RN experience (or completion of an RN residency), and telemetry experience preferred. BCLS/ACLS are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license required in Texas.
  • One-year RN experience or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One-year Medical Telemetry experience preferred.
  • BCLS and ACLS required within specified timelines.
  • Must follow the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
  • Assesses and plans patient care.
  • Intervenes as needed and evaluates outcomes.
  • Maintains age-specific safety and infection control.
  • Coords transfers and ensures continuity of care.
  • Manages cardiac drips as applicable.

Registered Nurse (RN II) – Progressive Care Unit

Work hours: Full Time 36 Hours, Days; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm; Rotating Weekends

Here’s What You Need
  • Nursing Diploma required
  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
  • One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
  • Cardiac Focused Care
  • Management of various cardiac drips
