Job summary

IHA is seeking a part-time RN Coordinator - Patient Placement to oversee inpatient bed management and patient placement. The role includes supervising the flexible staffing system on a shift-by-shift basis and ensuring access to appropriate care.

Ideal candidates have a BSN, Michigan nursing license, and at least five years of acute care RN experience with prior leadership exposure. Weekend commitments are included.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Newly hired colleagues must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years.
• Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
• Prior leadership experience (Shift Coordinator, Team Leader, committee participation, or Case Management in acute care).

Schedule

• Contingent opportunity supporting the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift
• Scheduled a minimum of two shifts per month.
• Position does have a weekend commitment: Three weekends every six months (which include Saturday and Sunday).

What You Will Do

• The selected individual will facilitate patient access to the clinically appropriate level of care in collaboration with other members of the health care team through the use of clinical criteria, utilization management and managed care processes while evaluating care based upon quality, access and cost-effectiveness.
• This role will also serve as a leadership resource as needed.

Miniumum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from accredited nursing program Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

• Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
