Job summary

Trinity Health MI seeks an RN Coordinator - Patient Placement to oversee inpatient bed management, patient placement, and supervise the flexible staffing system on a shift-by-shift basis for a part-time, 12-hour day shift.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN (or commits to obtain within five years), is licensed in Michigan, has at least five years of RN acute care experience, and has leadership experience such as Shift Coordinator or Team Leader. Contingent weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• New hires should have a BSN or commit to obtaining one within five years.
• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• Minimum of five years as an RN in an acute care setting.
• Prior leadership experience (e.g., Shift Coordinator, Team Leader, committee participation, or Case Management in acute care).

• Evaluate care based on quality, access, and cost-effectiveness.

SCHEDULE

• Contingent opportunity supporting the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift
• Scheduled a minimum of two shifts per month.
• Position does have a weekend commitment: Three weekends every six months (which include Saturday and Sunday).

What You Will Do

• The selected individual will facilitate patient access to the clinically appropriate level of care in collaboration with other members of the health care team through the use of clinical criteria, utilization management and managed care processes while evaluating care based upon quality, access and cost-effectiveness.
• This role will also serve as a leadership resource as needed.

Miniumum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from accredited nursing program Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Newly hired colleagues must have a BSN or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years.
• Licensure: Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
• Prior successful leadership experience, i.e. Shift Coordinator, Team Leader, committee participation, or previous Case Management experience in an Acute Care setting.
