ChristianaCare is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Registered Nurse for our Outpatient Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center at the Cecil Campus. You will work with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients with acute and chronic wounds.

The role offers a daytime schedule, Monday–Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements, and opportunities for professional growth within a renowned health system.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• BSN degree required.
• Minimum of two years acute care nursing experience.
• Ambulatory or outpatient nursing experience preferred.
• Wound care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ambulatory wound care setting with assessments and wound management.
• Perform treatments and procedures including vital signs, glucose monitoring, ABIs, wound measurements, and specimen collection.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team to develop care plans.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on wound care and treatment plans.
• Occasionally cover at other ChristianaCare Wound Care locations as needed after orientation.

As part of our multidisciplinary outpatient team, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care for patients with acute and chronic wounds.

Work Schedule

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ambulatory wound care setting through comprehensive assessments, diagnostic evaluation, and wound assessment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of common wound etiologies and evidence-based wound care practices.
• Perform ordered treatments and procedures, including:
  • Vital signs
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Vascular assessments and ABIs
  • Wound assessments and measurements
  • Medication administration
  • Specimen collection and handling
  • Phlebotomy
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Obtain and interpret patient and wound histories using effective interview, observation, and assessment techniques.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education to support successful wound management.
• Deliver age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, demonstrating knowledge of growth, development, and individualized patient needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience.
• Previous ambulatory or outpatient nursing experience preferred.
• Wound care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and patient education skills.
• Flexibility to provide occasional coverage at other ChristianaCare Wound Care locations in the event of emergent staffing needs after orientation.

Hourly Pay Range: $42.11 - $67.37.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
