Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Part-Time | Wellness & HCSP Medication Administration
  • Part-time

The dream of Hopewell Center began in the early 1950's when a group of parents sought services for their children and founded Peter Pan Preschool. The group incorporated in 1966 and officially adopted the name Hopewell Center in May 1983.

As a private, not-for-profit agency, Hopewell has experienced rapid growth in services, personnel, and persons served. While originally focusing exclusively on persons with disabilities, Hopewell has expanded its services to families with infants and toddlers that are 'at-risk' due to developmental or socio-economic factors.

Hopewell now has an array of facility and community-based opportunities, including family services, children's services, employment services, and residential services. Today, nearly 200 caring professionals provide person-centered services to over 500 individuals a year.

What You’ll Do

This RN position is specifically focused on supporting adults receiving Hopewell’s Wellness Coordination and Supported Living/HCBS services, including nursing oversight, health coordination, and medication-administration support.

You’ll use your nursing experience to provide clinical guidance, staff education, and healthcare coordination while helping individuals maintain their health, independence, and quality of life. Key responsibilities include:

Provide nursing oversight for Wellness Coordination services and medication-administration practices within Supported Living/HCBS programs.

Provide medication-administration training, competency support, staff education, and ongoing nursing guidance in accordance with applicable program requirements.

Conduct nursing assessments, monitor changes in health status, review wellness-related health plans, and complete required quarterly summaries and follow-up.

Coordinate and communicate with physicians, healthcare providers, Supported Living staff, QIDPs, and other Hopewell team members to support continuity of care.

Review medical orders, address discrepancies, and provide clinical follow-up related to hospital visits, medication changes, seizures, injuries, and other significant healthcare concerns.

Partner with the Residential Services Director, QIDPs, and direct support teams to provide nursing consultation, clarify healthcare directions, and support safe implementation of individual health services.

Maintain required nursing documentation, monitor health trends and potential risks, and help identify opportunities to improve health, safety, and quality of care.

Schedule & Flexibility

This part-time position is approximately 20 hours per week with flexibility in how those hours are scheduled. Some in-home availability is required for nursing assessments, staff training, competency activities, and other hands-on clinical needs. Some responsibilities may be completed remotely when appropriate.

Hopewell's preference is to fill this role as a part-time employee; however, a contract arrangement may also be considered for the right candidate.

What We’re Looking For

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active, unrestricted Indiana RN license in good standing.

Strong clinical judgment with the ability to assess health concerns, interpret medical orders, document accurately, and communicate effectively.

Ability to train, coach, and provide nursing guidance to non-licensed staff.

Willingness to obtain and maintain any required credentials related to medication-administration training.

Experience with residential services, HCBS, IDD, or medication oversight is helpful, but not required.

Ability to travel between Hopewell locations as needed, with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record when driving is an assigned responsibility.
