Job summary

Greenspring Village, part of Erickson Senior Living, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents. You will work with a clinical team to ensure high-quality care in a welcoming environment and help residents maintain independence and well-being.

Ideal candidates have a Virginia RN license, at least 6 months of RN experience, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia (DHP registered)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care
• Minimum age 18
• Minimum 6 months experience as an RN
• Experience caring for seniors or cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet)
• EMR experience preferred
• CPR/BLS certification required and maintained

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with residents and families, providing person-centered care
• Perform clinical duties in line with Virginia nurse practice act and standards
• Promote resident independence by establishing care goals and teaching residents and families
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes to ensure comfort and safety
• Collaborate with care team to provide routine nursing care
• Administer medications and perform treatments per orders
• Develop and coordinate holistic care plans with interdisciplinary team
• Document care accurately in the EMR
• Participate in care conferences as requested by Clinical Manager

How You Will Make An Impact

• Developing relationships with the residents and their families using a consistent caregiver approach, supporting the resident's physical, spiritual, emotional, and clinical needs, and focusing on placing the resident first.
• Performing all clinical duties in accordance with the state nurse practice act and nursing standards of practice
• Promoting resident's independence by establishing resident care goals, teaching resident/family members to understand a resident's condition, medication, and self-care skills
• Monitoring a resident clinical and care conditions to identify any changes in status and acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety
• Working alongside the care associates to perform routine nursing care to assigned residents as needed
• Maintaining infection prevention practices, administering medications, and performing treatments per orders.
• Developing and coordinating a comprehensive Holistic plan of care to meet the resident's clinical and care needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary and neighborhood team
• Supporting resident's preferences, routines, and choices in resident's electronic medical record
• Ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, and timely.
• Participating in care conferences for designated residents as requested by Clinical Manager

What You Will Need

• RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Candidates must have license number registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A minimum of 6 months experience as an RN
• Experience in caring for seniors or senior with cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office, internet and web applications
• Experience with an electronic medical record is preferred
• CPR certification required. Erickson requires all clinical care team members to maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. Employees who do not hold a current BLS CPR certification must complete the required training within 90 days from the first day of employment.
