Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a welcoming environment. You’ll work with a clinical team to support residents’ physical, spiritual, emotional, and clinical needs while encouraging independence and safety.

Qualifications

• RN license required (Virginia)
• Minimum 1 year of assisted living/long-term care experience preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Minimum 6 months RN experience
• Experience with seniors or cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills including MS Office
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred
• CPR certification (BLS) required and maintained

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with residents and families with a consistent caregiver approach
• Perform clinical duties per state nurse practice act and standards
• Promote independence by teaching residents/family about condition, meds, and self-care
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to status changes for comfort and safety
• Collaborate with care associates for routine nursing care
• Administer medications and perform treatments per orders
• Develop and coordinate holistic care plans with interdisciplinary team
• Document in resident EMR and ensure timeliness
• Participate in care conferences as requested by Clinical Manager

How you will make an impact

• Developing relationships with the residents and their families using a consistent caregiver approach, supporting the resident’s physical, spiritual, emotional, and clinical needs, and focusing on placing the resident first.
• Performing all clinical duties in accordance with the state nurse practice act and nursing standards of practice
• Promoting resident’s independence by establishing resident care goals, teaching resident/family members to understand a resident’s condition, medication, and self-care skills
• Monitoring a resident clinical and care conditions to identify any changes in status and acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety
• Working alongside the care associates to perform routine nursing care to assigned residents as needed
• Maintaining infection prevention practices, administering medications, and performing treatments per orders.
• Developing and coordinating a comprehensive Holistic plan of care to meet the resident’s clinical and care needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary and neighborhood team
• Supporting resident’s preferences, routines, and choices in resident’s electronic medical record
• Ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, and timely.
• Participating in care conferences for designated residents as requested by Clinical Manager

What you will need

• RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Candidates must have license number registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A minimum of 6 months experience as an RN
• Experience in caring for seniors or senior with cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office, internet and web applications
• Experience with an electronic medical record is preferred
• CPR certification required. Erickson requires all clinical care team members to maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.Employees who do not hold a current BLS CPR certification must complete the required training within 90 days from the first day of employment.
