Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living in Springfield, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) on a part-time basis to provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents. You will collaborate with a clinical team to support daily needs and well-being, with new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include administering medications, maintaining documentation, and contributing to holistic care plans while promoting resident independence and safety. State regulations apply.

Qualifications

• Virginia RN license required (DHP).
• Minimum 1 year in assisted living/long-term care preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 6 months RN experience.
• Experience with seniors or cognitive impairment preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office and web apps.
• EMR experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; BLS must be current or training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with residents and families using a consistent caregiver approach.
• Perform clinical duties per state nurse practice act and nursing standards.
• Promote resident independence with care goals and teach self-care skills.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes to ensure comfort and safety.
• Collaborate with care associates for routine nursing care.
• Administer medications and maintain infection prevention practices.
• Develop holistic care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Document accurately in EMR and stay current.
• Participate in care conferences as requested by Clinical Manager.

How you will make an impact

• Developing relationships with the residents and their families using a consistent caregiver approach, supporting the resident’s physical, spiritual, emotional, and clinical needs, and focusing on placing the resident first.
• Performing all clinical duties in accordance with the state nurse practice act and nursing standards of practice
• Promoting resident’s independence by establishing resident care goals, teaching resident/family members to understand a resident’s condition, medication, and self-care skills
• Monitoring a resident clinical and care conditions to identify any changes in status and acting on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety
• Working alongside the care associates to perform routine nursing care to assigned residents as needed
• Maintaining infection prevention practices, administering medications, and performing treatments per orders.
• Developing and coordinating a comprehensive Holistic plan of care to meet the resident’s clinical and care needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary and neighborhood team
• Supporting resident’s preferences, routines, and choices in resident’s electronic medical record
• Ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, and timely.
• Participating in care conferences for designated residents as requested by Clinical Manager

What you will need

• RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Candidates must have license number registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A minimum of 6 months experience as an RN
• Experience in caring for seniors or senior with cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office, internet and web applications
• Experience with an electronic medical record is preferred
• CPR certification required. Erickson requires all clinical care team members to maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.Employees who do not hold a current BLS CPR certification must complete the required training within 90 days from the first day of employment.
