Job summary

Greenspring Village by Erickson Senior Living is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, person-centered care for residents in a welcoming on-site setting in Springfield, VA. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

You will work closely with a clinical team to support daily living, administer medications, and coordinate holistic care plans, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• A minimum of 6 months experience as an RN.
• Experience caring for seniors or cognitive impairment preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet and web applications.
• Experience with an electronic medical record is preferred.
• CPR certification required with BLS certification; training within 90 days of employment if not current.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with residents and families using a consistent caregiver approach, supporting physical, spiritual, emotional, and clinical needs.
• Perform all clinical duties in accordance with state nurse practice act and nursing standards of practice.
• Promote resident independence by establishing care goals and teaching residents/family members to understand condition, medication, and self-care skills.
• Monitor resident clinical and care conditions to identify changes and act to ensure comfort and safety.
• Work with care associates to perform routine nursing care for assigned residents.
• Maintain infection prevention practices, administer medications, and perform treatments per orders.
• Develop and coordinate a holistic plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Support resident preferences, routines, and choices in EMR.
• Ensure documentation is current, accurate, and timely.
• Participate in care conferences for designated residents as requested by Clinical Manager.

How you will make an impact

• Working alongside the care associates to perform routine nursing care to assigned residents as needed
• Maintaining infection prevention practices, administering medications, and performing treatments per orders.
• Developing and coordinating a comprehensive Holistic plan of care to meet the resident’s clinical and care needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary and neighborhood team
• Supporting resident’s preferences, routines, and choices in resident’s electronic medical record
• Ensuring that documentation is current, accurate, and timely.
• Participating in care conferences for designated residents as requested by Clinical Manager

What you will need

• RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Candidates must have license number registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (DHP).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A minimum of 6 months experience as an RN
• Experience in caring for seniors or senior with cognitive impairment preferred
• Basic computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office, internet and web applications
• Experience with an electronic medical record is preferred
• CPR certification required. Erickson requires all clinical care team members to maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.Employees who do not hold a current BLS CPR certification must complete the required training within 90 days from the first day of employment.
