Aurora West Allis Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pain Management in a fast-paced clinic environment in West Allis, WI. The role focuses on improving patient QoL for acute and chronic pain through procedural care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have a nursing program credential, an RN license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• At least 1 year of RN experience (not for new grads).
• RN license valid in practicing state.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care.
• Assist with patient exams.
• Develop expertise in pain pump management and medication coordination.
• Collaborate with nurses, techs, clerical staff and providers.
• Exposure to advanced procedures: Epidural Steroid Injections, Joint Injections, Nerve Blocks, Radiofrequency Ablations, Kyphoplasty, Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials.
• Specialized roles including Intrathecal Pump management and pharmacy coordination.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Candidates must have at least 1 year of RN experience, this position is not for new grads
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Requires minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
• Strong IV skills
• Preferred qualifications in procedural, ICU, L&D, ED or Med/Surg

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to:lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to:push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Position requires use of foot pedals on carts or machines.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
