Job summary

MedStar Health in Baltimore seeks an experienced RN with 2+ years in PACU to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit team. You will care for diverse post‑operative patients in a state‑of‑the‑art surgical pavilion, supported by strong teamwork.

Open to full and PRN shifts, including weekends or nights and one holiday per year. We offer relocation assistance, free parking, and nurse wellbeing resources to bolster your practice and personal growth.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1 year of RN experience required. For the full-time role, 2+ years of PACU RN experience strongly preferred. Experience with vents a plus.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS, PALS preferred or PALS within 6 months after hire.

Post Operative Care Unit (PACU) Summary

• Phase I PACU on 1st floor
• Variety of Post-Op patients (Ortho & neuro surgery, OB/GYN, Plastics, Gender Affi…Robotics, everything except open heart and transplant cases)
• Excellent teamwork and fun environment
• Lower turnover
• Part of our state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, which opened in 8/2020
• Lower call frequency
• Ability to be cross-trained to PreOp

Available Roles

• Unit based PRN

Requirements

• 4 shifts in 6 weeks, two weekend or nights shifts in 6 weeks, 1 holiday or hard-to-fill shift annually

This position has a hiring range of : USD $36.50 - USD $60.34 /Hr.
