MedStar Health is seeking an experienced PACU RN with 2+ years in PACU to join our Phase I PACU on the first floor, caring for diverse surgical patients including ortho, neuro, OB/GYN, plastics, and robotics.

We offer nurse wellbeing resources, relocation support up to $5,000, and a systemwide bonus program with opportunity for growth. Schedule includes 4 shifts in 6 weeks, with two weekend or night shifts and one annual holiday, plus free parking for associates.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN; BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• 2+ years PACU RN experience strongly preferred for full-time; vents experience a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide post-operative nursing care in Phase I PACU.
• Cross-train to PreOp when needed.
• Support teamwork in a state-of-the-art surgical pavilion.
• Meet staffing requirements: 4 shifts in 6 weeks with weekends/nights and one holiday.

Post Operative Care Unit (PACU) Summary

• Phase I PACU on 1st floor
• Variety of Post-Op patients (Ortho & neuro surgery, OB/GYN, Plastics, Gender Affinity, Robotics, everything except open heart and transplant cases)
• Excellent teamwork and fun environment
• Lower turnover
• Part of our state-of-the-art surgical pavilion, which opened in 8/2020
• Lower call frequency
• Ability to be cross-trained to PreOp

Available Roles

• Unit based PRN

Requirements

• 4 shifts in 6 weeks, two weekend or nights shifts in 6 weeks, 1 holiday or hard-to-fill shift annually

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1 year of RN experience required. For the full-time role, 2+ years of PACU RN experience strongly preferred. Experience with vents a plus.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS, PALS preferred or PALS within 6 months after hire.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $36.50 - USD $60.34 /Hr.
