This role acts as a leader in patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. It involves delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, and ensuring accountability for quality patient outcomes. The role requires sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity, and active participation in achieving departmental goals.
