Azspineandjoint seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN coverage at our outpatient surgery center in Memphis, TN. The role involves PACU duties, patient monitoring, and family education, with a focus on safe post-operative care and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred.
• Minimum of one year PACU or critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vital signs, change dressings, and administer medications.
• Educate families and patients about home care instructions.
• Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities.
• Assess patient’s condition after surgery and document findings.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient condition.
• Monitor changes and report to the healthcare team.
• Perform interventions in postoperative emergencies.
• Record sedation levels and body temperatures.
• Ensure post-operative space is clean and sanitized.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Description

JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse / RN (PRN)

SHIFT:

Monday-Friday. Variable day shift with assigned late days. No holidays, nights or call.

Looking for a PRN PACU nurse for a fast-paced outpatient surgery center.

• PACU nurses are responsible for overseeing vital signs, changing bandages, and administering necessary medications
• Educating families and patients about homecare instructions
• Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities
• Assess patient’s condition after surgery is performed; ensure that all vital signs are within range
• Accurately and completely record all findings in patient’s chart
• The Registered Nurse will develop individualized care plans based on patient’s condition
• Monitors patient’s condition changes and reports changes to healthcare team
• Perform intervention duties in the case of post-operative emergencies
• Record sedation levels and body temperatures
• PACU RN will Ensure the post-operative space is clean and sanitized
• The PACU RN will Perform other duties as requested

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current RN License.
